K45MT-3 · Three-head, non-ATC woodworking router

K45MT-3 Multi-Head CNC Router for Wood Door Production

Use three prepared cutters in one programmed workflow and rotate the centre spindle for selected door-edge keyholes or grooves—without moving to a large ATC magazine when your normal programs need only a limited tool set.

Quick CNC recommends K45MT-3 for repeat door and furniture programs that use up to three tools and require controlled top-face machining plus selected edge access. Send us your drawings and process sequence; we will confirm whether this model, an ATC router or a drilling solution is the better production direction.

  • Wood door and decorative door-panel factories
  • Furniture and cabinet-component workshops
  • Custom woodworking plants repeating two or three routing operations
  • Distributors supporting industrial woodworking buyers

Primary materials

  • Solid wood, MDF and plywood
  • Particle board and melamine-faced board
  • Acrylic, PVC, plastic and suitable composites
  • Soft aluminum only after tooling, hold-down and sample validation

Main operations

  • Door-face profiling, pocketing and engraving
  • Grooves, rebates and selected keyhole features
  • Furniture components and decorative panels
  • Signs, patterns and controlled batch work

02 · Core solution

Sequential spindle selection reduces manual cutter changes

K45MT-3 carries three 6 kW air-cooled spindles. The control program selects the prepared head required for each operation. This is a practical multi-tool architecture for programs that repeatedly use a profiling cutter, a grooving or pocketing cutter and a third tool for another defined operation.

The centre spindle can be indexed for selected edge work. Quick CNC uses your door drawing, keyhole position, edge geometry and fixture plan to confirm access before we approve the configuration.

Important: the heads are selected in sequence. This page does not claim simultaneous three-head cutting.

03 · Suitable and unsuitable scope

We recommend the lowest-complexity machine that completes your real process

K45MT-3 is a strong fit when

  • One normal program needs no more than three prepared tools.
  • Door faces and selected edge keyholes/grooves form the main workload.
  • Manual loading and unloading remain acceptable.
  • Vacuum or combined vacuum/T-slot workholding can secure the workpiece.
  • Your CAM/post-processor can support the approved Syntec workflow.

Quick CNC will recommend another direction when

  • Programs repeatedly need four or more automatic tool changes.
  • Dense horizontal connector drilling requires a drill bank, PTP or six-sided drilling solution.
  • Automatic labeling, loading or unloading is a production requirement.
  • Undercuts, complex multi-face machining, steel or stone are the core workload.
  • A finished-part tolerance or output target has not been validated by a representative test.

05 · Structure and manufacturing

A welded steel platform, servo motion and controlled tool access

The current K45MT-3 description uses a thickened welded steel structure, rack-and-pinion X/Y transmission, ball-screw Z transmission, linear guides, a Yaskawa servo system and Syntec control. Quick CNC configures these systems as one machine rather than treating component brands as isolated buying points.

Frame construction supports the machine role, but finished-part accuracy still depends on geometry, tooling, workholding, material, program, cutting parameters, maintenance and ambient conditions. We will not convert the listed reposition resolution into a guaranteed part tolerance without an approved test method.

06 · Configuration choices

Match options to door geometry, tools, hold-down and factory utilities

Centre-head motion

Use indexed 0°/90°/180° positions for defined edge work. Free 0–180° rotation is listed as an option and requires confirmation of control, post-processing and collision boundaries.

Table and vacuum

Quick CNC can configure vacuum and T-slot workholding around door size, leakage, spoilboard, small-part risk and fixture requirements. Pump selection follows the approved material and table plan.

Electrical and extraction

Share destination voltage/frequency, site breaker and grounding requirements, compressed-air details and dust-extraction interface. The 380 V/50 Hz/3-phase value is a reference, not a universal site promise.

07 · Customization capability

Working size and pump are listed options; other changes require engineering confirmation

Quick CNC can configure the project around the approved working envelope, pump, electrical package, tooling and workholding. A requested change is not treated as standard until it appears in the quotation, technical agreement and approved drawing. Share your maximum door size, thickness, edge features, fixture concept and factory layout so we can prepare a controlled configuration.

08 · Process, tooling, workholding and sample testing

We build the tooling and test plan from your real door program

Tool list

Provide tool type, diameter, flute length, shank and operation. Quick CNC can propose a three-tool allocation and flag programs that justify ATC.

Workholding

Provide door size, flatness, surface, leakage and edge-access needs. We can propose vacuum zones, spoilboard, gasket and mechanical support.

Representative sample

Provide material, drawing, finish criteria, key dimensions and cycle definition. We can arrange a configuration-specific sample-test plan before final approval.

Send us one representative door drawing

We will map the three tools, centre-head access, workholding, post-processor and sample-test requirements before preparing the quotation.

09 · Testing, QC and document scope

Configuration-specific checks, not generic proof

Planned machine checks

  • Approved component and electrical configuration check
  • Axis movement, homing and program execution
  • Spindle selection and centre-head indexed movement
  • Vacuum/workholding and basic functional checks
  • Representative cutting test when material and acceptance criteria are supplied

Evidence boundary

Final inspection records, test videos, declarations and certificates apply only to the approved machine and destination scope. This asset package does not claim an unprovided K45MT-3 test record, customer case or certificate.

Quick CNC can provide the document list applicable to the final order after the configuration and destination requirements are confirmed.

11 · Engineering scenario

Example: repeat wooden-door program with three tools

A hypothetical factory produces flat and decorative doors using one profiling cutter, one grooving/pocketing cutter and one cutter for a defined keyhole or edge feature. K45MT-3 may reduce manual cutter changes while keeping the workflow simpler than a large ATC system.

Quick CNC would still require the drawing, material, door thickness, edge location, fixture plan, tool list, acceptable finish and output target before confirming the machine. This scenario is not a customer case or measured production result.

15 · Frequently asked questions

K45MT-3 buyer questions

Do all three spindles cut at the same time?

No. The heads are selected sequentially by the program. K45MT-3 is designed to keep three prepared tools available, not to claim simultaneous three-head cutting.

Is K45MT-3 the same as an ATC CNC router?

No. It changes among three prepared spindle heads rather than selecting many tools from a magazine. Quick CNC recommends ATC when normal programs repeatedly need more than three tools.

Can the machine process a door-edge keyhole?

The centre spindle can be indexed to 0°, 90° and 180° for selected edge features, with free 0–180° rotation listed as an option. Send the exact door drawing and fixture plan so we can confirm access and collision clearance.

Can it cut aluminum?

Suitable soft aluminum may be possible only with an approved spindle/tooling strategy, lubrication or cooling plan, rigid workholding and sample validation. It is not positioned as a heavy-metal router.

What accuracy can Quick CNC guarantee?

The current reference lists 0.02 mm reposition resolution. That is not automatically a finished-part tolerance. A part acceptance value requires the drawing, material, tool, measurement method and representative test.

Can the working size be customized?

Customized working size is listed as an option. Quick CNC will confirm structure, table, travel, pump, transport and price implications in the quotation and approved drawing.

What should we send for a quotation?

Send drawings, maximum workpiece size/thickness, materials, operations, tool count, edge features, daily output target, loading method, voltage/frequency, compressed air, dust extraction and destination.
