CC-481 ATC CNC Router for Cabinet & Panel Production

CC-481 ATC CNC Router for Cabinet & Panel Production

3 Axis Automatic Tool Changing for Cabinet, Door and Furniture Panel Production

Use CC-481 when one job needs cutting, drilling, grooving, profiling and engraving without stopping the operator for every tool change.

Send your sheet size, material, thickness, tool count, daily output and workshop utilities. Quick CNC will confirm whether the standard CC-481 is enough or whether a larger table, more tools, a drill bank or material-handling option is justified.

Quick Answer & Standard Configuration

Start with the baseline. Upgrade only when the job requires it.

Quick answer: the recommended CC-481 baseline is a 1300 × 2500 mm 3-axis ATC router with a 9.0 kW ATC air-cooled spindle, 8-tool linear automatic tool changer, vacuum + T-slot table, servo drive system, rack-and-pinion transmission on X/Y, ball screw on Z and 0.6–0.8 MPa compressed-air supply.

Who Should Choose CC-481?

Choose it when automatic tool changing removes a real production bottleneck.

Strong fit

  • Cabinet factories running nested panels, door parts and grooves in one program.
  • Door shops cutting MDF, plywood and decorative panels with several cutters per job.
  • Acrylic and sign shops that need repeatable tool offsets and cleaner batch work.
  • Furniture and panel shops that need cutting, drilling, grooving, profiling and engraving in one workflow.

Choose another solution when

  • One cutter finishes most jobs and manual tool changing is not a bottleneck.
  • Round columns, stair posts or chair legs are the main work without a rotary setup.
  • The project requires complex 5-axis mold machining.
  • Steel, stainless steel, hardened metal or deep metal cutting is the main process.

CC-481 CNC Router Applications for Cabinet, Door & Panel Production

CC-481 is positioned for cabinet panels, wardrobe panels, MDF doors, plywood cutting, acrylic letters, PVC boards, decorative panels, wood relief work and furniture components.

Choose the working area by the largest real sheet or fixture. For doors, check the thickest workpiece and required Z clearance. For acrylic, plan workholding and chip evacuation before production. For narrow strips or small offcuts, confirm fixtures instead of assuming the vacuum table alone will hold every part.

Materials and Processing Capabilities of CC-481

Material names alone are not enough. Tooling, holding, chip removal and finish requirements decide the process.

MaterialTypical CC-481 WorkBuyer / Process Note

PlywoodCutting, profiling, drillingCutter geometry, holding and sheet quality affect edge finish.

Configuration Options

Choose the complete cutting system, not the biggest spindle number on a quotation.

Tool changer choice

  • Use linear ATC as the practical baseline for most cabinet, door and sign shops.
  • Review carousel ATC when a compact tool-storage layout and spindle-side tool access better fit the machine configuration.
  • Choose 12 or 16 tools only when normal jobs genuinely require more cutters.

Automatic loading and unloading is optional, not part of the standard CC-481 baseline. Evaluate it against sheet size, factory layout, operator workflow and daily output.

Optional CC-481 automatic loading and unloading system for panel production

Utilities to prepare

  • Stable 0.6–0.8 MPa compressed air.
  • Industrial dust collection for MDF, plywood and particle board.
  • Confirmed 220V or 380V electrical configuration for the destination.

Options worth reviewing

  • Drill bank when cabinet-hole production is a bottleneck.
  • Positioning cylinders for repeated full-sheet loading.
  • Custom fixtures for small parts, narrow strips or acrylic signs.
  • Larger Z travel for thick doors, fixtures and relief work.

When Should You Upgrade?

Pay for an option because it removes a bottleneck, not because the option list is long.

9 kW → 12 kWReview for heavier long-bed workThe 9.0 kW ATC spindle is the baseline. Review 12 kW when the project requires the higher spindle configuration.
8 → 12 / 16 ToolsUpgrade when the program needs themMore tool positions make sense when jobs repeatedly combine drilling, grooving, roughing, finishing, chamfering or engraving tools.
Linear → CarouselChoose by layout and tool accessCarousel ATC is an alternative configuration, not an automatic quality upgrade over linear ATC.
200 → 300 / 400 mm ZReview for thicker workIncrease Z travel only when the workpiece, fixture, cutter and clearance actually require it.
Add Drill BankUse it when hole production is the bottleneckCabinet work with significant drilling requirements can justify a drill-bank configuration.
Add Material HandlingReview the complete line firstLoading and unloading automation is most useful when material handling, rather than another downstream process, limits daily output.

CC-481 CNC Router Structure and Drive System

Judge CC-481 as one mechanical system, not by spindle power alone. The recommended architecture combines rack-and-pinion transmission on X/Y, a ball screw on Z, machined linear-guide mounting surfaces, an ATC spindle and tool magazine, plus a vacuum + T-slot table for panel work.

During quotation review, confirm the final servo package, controller, tool-holder interface and workholding package as one configuration. A larger spindle cannot compensate for weak holding, and more tool positions do not improve output when the real bottleneck is CAM, loading, drilling, edge banding or downstream handling.

Structure data still worth confirming on the final quotation: servo brand and motor package, guide-rail specification, rack/reducer package, vacuum-pump specification and any project-specific frame or gantry details that affect the selected build.

Production Workflow

The operator still needs a stable process even when tool changing is automatic.

Prepare the CAD/CAM file and output compatible G-code.
Load the sheet against stops, vacuum zones or fixtures.
Confirm the tool set, tool length and work origin.
Hold the material with vacuum, T-slot clamps or dedicated fixtures.
Run cutting, drilling, grooving, profiling and engraving as required by the program.
Check edge finish, hole position and finished-part size.
Clean dust, inspect cutters and prepare the next sheet.

CC-481 CNC Router Testing Before Shipment

Separate standard machine inspection from any project-specific cutting check.

Axis movement check
Spindle running check
Automatic tool-change action

Controller operation
Electrical cabinet condition
Packing protection
Machine assembly and general inspection
Part-focused cutting check: when edge finish, hole position, material behavior or another project result is critical, send the drawing and material details before order so the check can be planned around the actual part requirement.

Before You Buy CC-481

These six answers decide more than a brochure comparison.

01 · Largest sheet?Use the largest real sheet, fixture and clearance requirement to choose 1325, 1530, 2030 or 2040.
02 · How many tools per normal job?If one cutter finishes most work, ATC may not be the best use of budget. If jobs use several cutters, tool capacity matters.
03 · Is drilling part of the same cycle?Frequent cabinet-hole work can justify reviewing a drill-bank configuration.
04 · What limits daily output?Do not add automatic loading if the real bottleneck is drilling, edge banding, sorting, inspection or another downstream process.
05 · Are utilities ready?Confirm voltage, phase, stable 0.6–0.8 MPa compressed air and industrial dust extraction before shipment.
06 · Panels only, or thick / shaped work?Thicker doors, relief work, fixtures or rotary parts can change Z travel, tooling and machine configuration.
A useful quotation should tell you not only what options are available, but which options your process does not need.
